IT Recruitment and Talent Management

Charge

Provide input, oversight and guidance on Human Resources matters in Information Technology units to advance the mission of the University of Texas. To promote and support the recruiting, development and retention of IT talent in support of that mission.

Scope/Boundaries

Committee responsibilities include:

  • IT Talent Recruiting
    • Review UT Austin Pay Plan and Job Profiles and recommend changes to maintain competitive compensation and benefits
    • Review the suitability of specific IT titles for Flexible Work Arrangements
    • Recommend changes to policy, procedures and programs to assist in recruiting efforts
  • IT Talent Onboarding
    • Review available support for employees starting in IT positions on campus
  • IT Talent Development
    • Review available training programs and develop training plans tailored for various IT talent pools
    • Review available certification programs and develop certification goals tailored for various IT talent pools
    • Develop and review compliance requirements for IT talent
  • IT Talent Retention
    • Recommend changes to policy, procedures or systems to better support Flexible Work Arrangements
    • Develop programs to encourage the advancement of IT talent within and between IT units on campus
    • Recommend common retention strategies and practices
  • IT Talent Job Sharing
    • Develop programs to better utilize shared Human Resources where that best suits business needs
    • Develop an “IT Skills Database” to enable more fluid pairing of available skills to required duties
    • Serve as a resource to campus Human Resources and other central units on behalf of the ITLC

Membership

9 members to serve staggered 2-year terms. Members may serve multiple terms. Chair must be ITLC member.

Members are expected to be from the IT community and be broadly representative. Members selected by chair and vice chair.
